Victorian Coastal
Strategy
Under the Coastal Management Act 1995 the Victorian Coastal Council
has prepared the Victorian Coastal Strategy
(VCS). The VCS establishes the framework for the long term sustainable
management of coastal and marine areas in Victoria.
Siting
and Design Guidelines
The Victorian Coastal Council has also published the Landscape
setting types for the Victorian Coast and the Siting
and Design Guidelines for structures on the Victorian Coast. These
guidelines have been developed to assist the Victorian Coastal Council,
coastal managers, local government and other stakeholders to implement
the Victorian Coastal Strategy by encouraging sympathetic coastal development
and promoting excellence in coastal design.
