Draft
Victorian Coastal Strategy 2007: Submissions Received (A to Z)
The response to
the Draft Victorian Coastal Strategy 2007 has been very successful with
the VCC receiving 174 written submissions. Submissions from community
groups, Committees of Management, Local Government, state Government
agencies, non-government organisations, recreational user groups, industry
and the general public are now available to view.
All submissions
are currently being analysed so that the feedback received can be incorporated
into the development of the final Victorian Coastal Strategy.
Names and contact
details on individual submissions have been
removed for privacy reasons. Address and contact details remain on submissions
from organisations, except where they appear to be personal details.
Please do not hesitate to contact the VCC if you wish to have your contact
details removed.
Submitters who
specifically requested that their submission not to be placed in on
the Internet, and submissions from individuals under 18 years, will
not be placed on the website.
NEXT STEPS FOR
THE VICTORIAN COASTAL STRATEGY
Our consultation process
Following the release of the Draft Victorian Coastal Strategy on 9 November
2007, the VCC, together with the Regional Coastal Boards, actively sought
the community's feedback on the Strategy. Consultations were held at
18 different locations, and many face to face meetings were conducted
with the heads of a number of stakeholder organisations and peak bodies.
A key part of our consultation process encouraged anyone with an interest
in the coast to make a written submission to the Draft Victorian Coastal
Strategy, outlining the parts of the Strategy they support, or have
reservations with, and to detail their recommendations.
End of submission
period
Submissions to the Draft Victorian Coastal Strategy officially closed
on 31 January 2008. 174 submissions have been received from a range
of stakeholders and the community.
Analysing submissions
VCC Council members and staff are currently reading every submission
and analysing the key issues being put forward before preparing the
final version of the Victorian Coastal Strategy. All submissions have
been made available on the VCC website unless stated confidential.
A summary report
on the submissions will be available on this webpage in May.
The Final Victorian
Coastal Strategy 2008
The Final
VCS will be submitted to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change
by mid-2008 for the Governments' decision.
