The Victorian Coastal Council is appointed under the Coastal
Management Act 1995 as the peak body for the strategic planning
and management of the Victorian coast, and to provide advice
to the Minister for Environment and Climate Change. They have
a number of responsibilities under the Act, including to prepare
and submit to the Minister a draft Victorian Coastal Strategy.
They are also responsible for the coordination and implementation
of the Victorian Coastal Strategy.
